Slow and Easy Today
by CWG on Jan.01, 2012, under Music Videos, My Life, Our Culture
New Year’s Eve was just too much fun We went downtown for the big street party. They had music on the riverfront stage, with the main act, Lynyrd Skynyrd. They rocked this town at midnight, let me tell you! We didn’t get home until almost 4:00 am. Today is going to be slow and easy – I am so glad I don’t have to work until Wednesday!
Here Comes Santa

The local CBS TV affiliate is doing 15 minutes updates all night long showing Santa’s progress as he makes his way around the world in 24 hours. They are claiming the maps show Santa being tracked by NORAD. It’s a cute idea – especially when the newscaster is ending each update by urging the children to get in bed and be sound asleep before Santa gets to our neighborhood.
Merry Christmas – and I hope Santa is good to you!
Men in Skirts

Did you know that in the colonial days of America, little boys wore dresses and skirts while young? They did not get to wear short pants until they were school age. I wonder when America decided that boys should wear pants instead? And when did mean decided to stop wearing kilts? I don’t remember any of my history books in school addressing this at all.
Greensleeves

One of the classic songs that everyone has heard at least a few times by the time they turn 20 years old is Greensleeves. I have always thought it was a pretty song, a little sad, and for some reason turns up on a lot of Christmas music albums.
To be honest, I never really knew what the song was about. I could not recite any of the lyrics to this if you paid me big money to do it. So I decided to look it up on the internet. Wow. I had no idea and now I wonder how many other songs I have heard all my life that I have no real clue as to what they are about?
Don’t Be a Victim
by CWG on Nov.07, 2011, under My Life, Our Culture
Women are too often left to defend themselves with no real self defense skills. I think self defense should be taught in schools. All girls should know how to fire a gun and to fight back if someone is trying to kidnap them or mug them. It can mean the difference between life and death.
