Did you know that in the colonial days of America, little boys wore dresses and skirts while young? They did not get to wear short pants until they were school age. I wonder when America decided that boys should wear pants instead? And when did mean decided to stop wearing kilts? I don’t remember any of my history books in school addressing this at all.

One of the classic songs that everyone has heard at least a few times by the time they turn 20 years old is Greensleeves. I have always thought it was a pretty song, a little sad, and for some reason turns up on a lot of Christmas music albums.

To be honest, I never really knew what the song was about. I could not recite any of the lyrics to this if you paid me big money to do it. So I decided to look it up on the internet. Wow. I had no idea and now I wonder how many other songs I have heard all my life that I have no real clue as to what they are about?

Does the Government consider our country’s citizens it’s customers? Every time I have had to deal with a government office I get the feeling that I am not a customer. More like a prisoner. I am told to cue up in a long line, I have to fill out and present documents on demand, and have to pay fees that are non-negotiable. The clerks rarely smile or have any manners or graciousness beyond, “Next?” or the obligatory farewell, “Have a nice day.”

It would be nice to be treated as a customer once in a while.

So, this morning our Congress finally passed the bill to raise our debt limit and the President signed it. President Obama calls it a manufactured crisis and I agree. We are paying 42 cents of every federal dollar for interest charges on the international financial market. This is crazy stupid to be spending money that we don’t have and then paying 40% of that money to banks. What is wrong with these people in Washington?

Wow it has been quite sometime since i have been able to blog about anything here but now that I am back at home I will have plenty of time to blog about all the random stuff that happens in my life. And right now I can not believe there are only five days left till Christmas because it feels like 65 degrees outside although tomorrow temperatures are expected to drop but wow five days left.

Because it is so close to Christmas with this post I am going to ask everyone out there what they want to get for Christmas this year so leave the gift you want in the comments!
