When will we all learn for the past?

I was told a saying as a student in jr high school by my history teacher that always stuck with me the phrase goes” Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it” and I wonder if we as a society are learning from the past or just as individuals. It is important to research the past when you get out of school because what they teach us in school is just one version of the past and everyone should explore as much human history as possible.
In my opinion our society is to focused on the present and the future and forgets some of the lessons learned by past generations here in America. I hope that by doing this post at least one person will start looking at the history of the World.

For many, learning from the past involves repeating past mistakes.

I am realising that we are so unconscious we do not even know what is happening in front of our faces in this very moment. How can history even be accurate when as individuals were are not able to effectively hear, and understand those around us. Ask two people to describe the same event and notice how differently they experienced it. Whilst history is dependent on recounting of stories I doubt we have a clue as to what has happened in the past. I seem unable to explain what is happening right now
The good news – I doubt we have changed dramatically throughout history we still live in the head and crucify anyone of heart.
